Craft

Each month we suggest a couple of crafts. One is a corporate activity to produce something to put up on the wall or in the church to show that children are present, active and part of the church. The other is individual for them to make something and take it home.

For the corporate craft we suggest making two large sheets of the picture of the barn - Download Template. Also bring a pile of newspapers and magazine and the ask the children to locate pictures of earthly things that people use to store up treasure for themselves, cut them out and then stick them onto the barn. The other picture is for use in the prayers for others.

We also suggest making large barn door biscuits. Each child should make two biscuits, one for themselves and another to take home and give to a friend or relation.

Finally we suggest decorating paper bags to put the biscuits in. For older children they could draw or write ideas of heavenly treasures as part of the decoration. If you Google "Plain white paper bags" you will get an excellent choice of purchasing options.

Tea

We have found that sandwiches, crisps, sausage rolls, pizza, jelly and ice cream make a really good Sunday tea. The Notes suggest a number of "I wonder questions" to start conversations about the video and the story.
